It is the time for love to grow as well. ![]() He can tell because the winter rains have stopped, the flowers are opening, the birds are singing their mating calls, the turtledoves are heard throughout the land, the fig trees are in bud and the grapevines are in blossom, sending forth their overwhelming fragrance. You will notice the Lover’s observation that winter is over. In between these two appeals we find the answer to the urgency it is Spring, the time of love. There seems to be an urgency in this request. Take notice how the Lover twice directs his Beloved to “arise” and then to “come” first at the beginning of his remarks, and then again at the end. Here we have the Beloved, the Girl, sharing with us the words of her Lover, Solomon, to “come away” with him. So arise my dearest, my beauty, and come away with me.” -(VOICE) The fig trees are bringing forth their first fruit, and the vines are in blossom, filling the air with their fragrance. The flowers are unfolding in the fields the birds are warming up their songs, the cooing of the turtledove is heard throughout the land. Him: “Arise, my dearest, my beauty, and come away with me. The fig tree has budded and ripens her figs, and the vines are in blossom and give forth their fragrance.
